With support from Friends of CHAFO, this project delivered a community-led COVID-19 awareness campaign targeting vulnerable and geographically isolated populations in Nsanje District. CHAFO deployed locally relevant tools such as community radios, megaphones, posters, and in-person mobilisations by trained volunteers. The initiative addressed widespread misinformation, promoted preventive behaviours (such as mask-wearing and hand hygiene), and encouraged vaccine acceptance. By leveraging trusted community structures, the project successfully reached thousands with timely health information and positioned CHAFO as a grassroots health advocacy leader during the pandemic.
