Life Saving, Healthy and Nutritional Supplements

ongoing

CHAFO, with support from Vitamin Angels USA, implements a comprehensive Vitamin A Supplementation and Deworming (VAS+D) and Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS) programme across rural communities in Nsanje District. This life-saving initiative ensures the delivery of essential nutrients to children and mothers who are at the highest risk of malnutrition. The programme operates through trained healthcare workers, community mobilisation, and strong collaboration with the District Health Office. Through this ongoing intervention, CHAFO directly contributes to reducing child mortality, improving maternal health, and building resilience in underserved areas.

Project Objectives

  • To prevent micronutrient deficiencies among vulnerable populations in rural Nsanje.
  • To improve the nutritional status of children under five, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.
  • To contribute to the achievement of SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being.
