CHAFO, with support from Vitamin Angels USA, implements a comprehensive Vitamin A Supplementation and Deworming (VAS+D) and Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS) programme across rural communities in Nsanje District. This life-saving initiative ensures the delivery of essential nutrients to children and mothers who are at the highest risk of malnutrition. The programme operates through trained healthcare workers, community mobilisation, and strong collaboration with the District Health Office. Through this ongoing intervention, CHAFO directly contributes to reducing child mortality, improving maternal health, and building resilience in underserved areas.
69,500 children (12–59 months) dewormed, 29,500 infants (6–11 months) supplemented with Vitamin A, 64,250 children (12–59 months) supplemented with Vitamin A, 9,402 pregnant women provided with multiple micronutrient tablets.
